LANDMARKS + TORONTO

ABOUT LANDMARKS

Landmarks were selected and funded by the Canadian federal government as a premier project to mark Canada’s 150th year. This project, sponsored by TD Bank, invited people to creatively explore and deepen their connection to the land through a series of contemporary art projects presented in and around Canada’s national parks and historic sites. The intention of these art installations was to inspire dialogue about people, places and perspectives that have shaped our past and are vital to our future.

THE DESIGN PROJECT

Our assignment was to create a brand strategy and identity design for the official launch of Landmarks. Working with a team of leading Canadian curators, contemporary artists and OCAD educators, we were charged with strategically defining the collective purpose of this historic project and using design to create a common visual thread throughout the nine individual art projects. The design intention was to present brand identity with a contemporary feel while embodying the importance of nature and extraordinary locations to the Landmarks's story.
